11.21.03     I am currently working with MINISTRY at Sonic Ranch in El Paso Texas, a superbly appointed facility.

We're working 7 days a week from about 10:00 AM until Midnight or sometimes later. The session is going really well,
and we've tracked 6 songs to date.  We're recording everything to Pro Tools HD and monitoring through the SSL on
the Tannoy loudspeakers. We've got guitar and bass heads in the control room with the cabs mic'd in the center tracking room.

We are recording some AWESOME tracks and we're using many vintage outboard mic pre-amp's!
As you can see we're using Focusrite 85110 mic pre's for some of the drums, and Neve 1081's for drum room mics and
for some of the guitar amp mic's. We are also using API 212L pre's for some of guitars and for an alternate drum kit.

We're using AKG C-12's on the Vox and Fender Twin guitar amps for a stereo "clean guitar" sound,
and various combinations of dynamic mic's and a Cole's Ribbon mic on the Marshall cabs for "crunch" parts.

We're recording most of the drums in the "Stone Room" which sounds amazing. We also have a DW kit in the "Wood" room.
Room mics are a pair of U87's and there's also a Crown stereo PZM which we are distorting through a Summit tube mic pre.
Microphones on the drums include an  Electrovoice RE-20,  (3) Sennheiser MD-421's, a Shure SM-57, an AKG C-414
and C-460, and a pair of Shure SM-81's, but this is subject to change from time to time, as things "evolve".
